Education is the key to one's sucess in life. No matter what global problem dreading. weather it's the elimination of poverty, Whether its solving environmental energy problems, the solution-whatever it is multiple solutions, the solution always include educations, never it is with out an education component and sometimes cannot be done without education. With this motive upjss started a programme to education the indigenous people of remote areas. Including Lower Primary, Primary(L.P.), Middle Primary(M.P.), and High School(H.S) in the hilly and interior remote area of North East region.

Development of education in rule areas especially in tribal and tea-tribe areas of NE region where there is no hostel facilities for poor students is one of thrusting aspect in the objecttive of the UPJSS. Under this project, free residential schools from 6th up to 12th class are maintained in different states. It was felt necessary to construct hostel to established cultural and social tie up with local people. Hance a hostel with 11 students was established in the year 1972. The organization is running Hostels for poor tribe children. The hostel facility is provided to the students of class 1 to 1V and the same is available upto class X. Fooding, lodging, study materials and stationery in the hostel is provided free of cost. There ared different hostels for both boys and girls. The organization is also providing tuition facility to the students residing in the hostels. Through hostels UPJSS establish a close relationship with around 225 villages.

'Health is wealth'. For every person health is the most important fector. If a person ill, he cannot able to other things . SO,it is important to take care of one's health. Nowadays, with fast developing of technologies, there are many easy processes to cure any kind of disease. But unfortunatly, huge number of people are deprive of these facilities. People living in the remotes villages, having no doctor, hospital. Most of them don't have any access to minimum medical facility and gradually they invite there death. To solve this problem to some extent, the workers at Haflong. In 1971, two more such dispensaries were started near Haflong, and in 1974 a madical aid centre (Vivekananda Chikitsa Kendra) was started by the Parishad. Late Shri Shivsankar Chakravati, MBBS, a yong doctor come forward to volunteer his service. He moves on foot from village to village to give free treatment while on market day, people from distant villages came to the centre.
It acts as a perfect health vehicle to reach the tribal villagers which are devoid of proper health facilities. The van is equipped with besic medical facilities to treat terminally ill patients in the villages and patients in the villages and provides required medicine at free of cost and also advised them for the adoption of preventive measures.
Today computers are used in almost every field. No institution or organization today can function without the help of computers. They have made work easier and quick. And for this reason, Computer Training is a very important .
Training in computer gives an extra edge over other who don't know how to function with computers. With this motive UPJSS started a programme to educate the indigenous people of remote areas. Including interior remote area of North East region various computer centre are set up to provide computer training free of cost to the youth of North East.

Weaving is a mathod of fabric production in which two district sets of yams or threads are interlaced at right angles to from a fabric or cloth. The other methods are knitting, felting, and braiding or plaiting. The longitudinal threads are called the warp and the lateral threads are the weft or filling. The method in which these threads are interring wovwn affects the characteristics of the cloth. It seems that weaving and knitting is very popularand a source of livelihood in various places of North East. So, UPJSS started a programme of weaving, knitting and Tailoring traning in purpose to provide various methods of weaving and knitting among youths especially girls so that they can also earn their livelihood.

Handicraft, sometime more precisely expressed as artisanal handicraft or handmade, is any of a wide variety of types of work where useful and decorative objects are made completely by hand or by using only simple tools. It is a traditional main sector of craft, and applies to a wide range of creative and design activities that are related to making things with one's hands and skill, including work with textiles, rigid materials, paper, plant, fabric, etc. Usually the term is applied to traditional techniques of creating items that are both practical and aesthetic. Handicraft is a popular source of livelihood among tribal people of North East. UPJSS set up Gamosa and Gale Making Traning centre at Ahom Basti, Deovi Basti and Chakma Basti.
